about

“Breakdown” I think was the perfect way to start this mixtape. When I first started writing for this tape, it’s exactly how I felt at the time. I was battling with feelings for my ex, but not having them returned. Struggling with school and even with this whole emceeing thing. There are times I just wanted to say eff it and quit emceeing when I compared myself to my peers and whatnot. The last verse really touches on my relationship with God which has been waning ever since I came to college. Granted my beliefs have remained the same it’s more so remaining committed to trying to live a life of obedience. But this joint touches on all of it. The beat is from yU’s album “Before Taxes”. I love the beat so much and it has more of a happier feel to it, but it still fits the dark style that I have. You can peep the beat above.
