“Growing Pains” features one of my favorite emcees Lyriz (who sadly retired shortly after recording this verse). Growing up was a struggle for me, I was picked on because I wasn’t athletic enough, I was too nerdy, I was black, but I acted white and so many other things. I’m sure you’ve gone through something exactly like that during your years of growing up. And all that can take a toll on a person and it definitely took one on me. Lyriz laced an amazing hook that just came out of nowhere. I’m horrible at writing hooks and he texted me randomly (while I was listening to some of his beats) and he told me he had a hook. I lost it when I played it and knew it had to be the lead single. And of course Lyriz killed his verse too. You can actually download this one for free before the tape releases December 12th. You can also enjoy a dope remix from DJ Clutch who laced a fantastic beat to this joint. Enjoy.
