about

“The Grind” is a beat by Dunc of (DTMD) which was on the Diamond District album “In The Ruff” I specifically used this joint to bring to together up and coming cats in the game and a veteran. Hil of Dysfunktional Family is the veteran. I’ve known Hil for a minute now and I chopped it up with him at a Blueprint concert we had in Athens. He told me that he enjoyed #ThePsychWard1 (he called it “that real sh*t to be specific). I was tweeting about #ThePsychWard2 and he told me he wanted to be on it. I actually really wanted to put Hil on a more sadder emotional song, but Hil is like a chameleon and can rip any track. The young side of this feature is MC Forty. I met him last spring but had been told about him a couple years ago from Wonder Brown of Scribbling Idiots. I spent a weekend with both of them too and I had to get Forty on a joint. You’ll actually hear him again on an EP with DC King of Hearts and me. “The Grind” is simply about my love and frustration with The Grind in hip hop. Simple concept. Dope track.
